The Apogee Instruments Par Meter: Capture Accurate PPFD Measurements

Presenting the newly enhanced Apogee Instruments Par Meter, the MQ-500, your definitive tool for precise Photosynthetically Active Radiation (PAR)/Photosynthetic Photon Flux Density (PPFD) measurements. Whether you’re dealing with natural sunlight, LEDs or any other light sources, the MQ-500 provides unparalleled accuracy.

Advanced Spectral Response in the Par Meter

The MQ-500 Par Meter has been uniquely crafted by Apogee Instruments to include an improved spectral response. This significant feature raises the accuracy bar for LED measurements. Whether you’re working with natural sunlight or an array of LEDs, the MQ-500 promises consistency and precision.

User-friendly Design and Operation

Using the Apogee Instruments Par Meter is a breeze. The handheld meter displays and stores measurements, facilitating easy data analysis. The included sensor, connected via a cable, showcases a sturdy self-cleaning design and a blue-enhanced silicon photodiode.

Par Meter: Diverse Applications

This Par Meter is not just for labs and greenhouses. Its wide-ranging applications include underwater PAR/PPFD measurements in saltwater aquariums where corals grow, making it a favourite choice for marine biologists and hobbyists alike.

Reliable and Accurate Data Recording

Data collection with the MQ-500 is a piece of cake. The meter records an integrated daily total in mol m-2 d-1 and up to 99 manual measurements in sample mode. In log mode, the meter powers on/off to take measurements every 30 seconds, logging the average of sixty 30-second measurements every 30 minutes. Even when its memory is full, it smartly overwrites the oldest data with new ones.

The MQ-500 Par Meter: Your Reliable Partner

The MQ-500 Par Meter isn’t just about functionality, it’s about reliability too. Every sensor is meticulously calibrated under controlled conditions, traceable to NIST reference standards, ensuring you get nothing but accurate data. Its rugged design makes it suitable for use in diverse climatic conditions, while the excellent cosine response measures PPFD with accuracy within ±5% at a 75° zenith angle.

Note: To download data to a computer, the AC-100 communication cable and ApogeeAMS software are necessary.

Downloading data to a computer requires the AC-100 communication cable (a standard USB cable will not work) and ApogeeAMS software.

From its refined spectral response to its durable design and reliable accuracy, the Apogee MQ-500, is your perfect ally in capturing accurate PAR/PPFD measurements. Elevate your scientific and horticultural endeavours with the power of precision. Experience the difference with Apogee Instruments.

Enhance the functionality of your sensor with the AM-310, the perfect companion sensor wand designed specifically for seamless compatibility and optimised performance.
